ARTZ 271 - Printmaking I Credit(s): 3
Prerequisite(s): ARTZ 105 . This is an introductory course in the art and technique of Intaglio and collagraph. Basic plate preparation, experimentation with a variety of grounds and tones, and the use of the press will be covered. (Fall and Spring Semesters)
Course Learning Outcomes: Upon completion of the course, students will be able to - Use basic etching process.
- Use basic collagraph process.
- Use basic embossment process.
- Prepare metal plates for printing processes.
- Work with inks and paper.
- Operate and maintain an etching press.
