                  SRVY 241 - Introduction to Surveying for Land Surveyors I  Credit(s): 5
  Corequisite(s): M 095~ , M 123 . Instruction and practice in the use of various surveying instruments to determine point locations; measurement of horizontal and vertical angles; chaining and use of EDM; leveling to determine elevations; recording of field notes; statistical analysis of data; use of compass; the relationships between angles and bearings/azimuths. (Fall Semester)
  Course Learning Outcomes: Upon completion of the course, students will be able to  - Properly use and care for surveying tools and instruments which include theodolite, level, compass, total station, and other related items. 
 
- Record and reduce survey field notes neatly and correctly. 
 
- Perform basic surveying calculations to determine horizontal and vertical point locations. 
 
- Understand statistical analysis of data and be able to distinguish between errors and mistakes.
