ECP 235 - EMS Operations Credit(s): 3
Prerequisite(s): program director’s consent. This course provides an in-depth look at EMS transport operations; incident management and multiple casualty incidents; vehicle extrication and special rescue; hazardous materials, terrorism, disaster response; and crime scene awareness. Students will also complete studies in National Incident Management Systems (NIMS) and Incident Command Systems (ICS). (Spring Semester)
Course Learning Outcomes: Upon completion of the course, students will be able to - Discuss operational roles and responsibilities to ensure safe patient, public and personnel safety, specifically in the areas of Transport operations, Incident management, Disaster response, Crime scene management, Terrorism, Vehicle extrication, Special rescue techniques, Multiple-casualty incidents, Air-medical operations, and Hazardous Materials Awareness.
