Media Arts Transfer to The University of Montana - Missoula

Students who intend to seek a career in Media Arts can complete most of the first two pre-professional years of study at FVCC to prepare themselves for the program at The University of Montana - Missoula. The UM School of Visual and Media Arts prepares graduates for professions film producers and editors, creative directors, animators, graphic designers, video game developers and more.

The Graphic Design classes at FVCC focus on practical skills: mastering Adobe software (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Premiere), core design competencies (photography, drawing, video editing), and web design/development.

Transfer Agreement


Students interested in transferring to the University of Montana School of Visual and Media Arts and who successfully complete the course requirements for an Associate’s Degree as delineated in this agreemnt may transfer 60 or more credits toward the Bachelor of Arts in Media Arts offered through the School of Visual and Media Arts and begin at UM with junior standing.  Students must earn an Associate of Arts or Sciences degree from FVCC and maintain a GPA of 3.0 in the courses required by the Media Arts major. The AA degree from FVCC ensures students have met the General Education Core upon transfer. See your advisor for more information about this transfer articulation agreement.
