ACT 134 - Weightroom Training Credit(s): .5
Students will enhance their muscular strength and endurance through structured weight training. Participants will gain a comprehensive understanding of weight training principles, proper lifting techniques, and how to develop a personalized strength-training program. The curriculum combines theoretical knowledge with hands-on practice to ensure safe and effective workouts. (Fall and Spring Semesters)
Course Learning Outcomes: Upon completion of the course, students will be able to
- Understand the fundamentals of weight training, including key concepts and terminology.
- Learn and demonstrate proper lifting techniques to minimize the risk of injury.
- Develop the ability to create and adjust personalized weight training programs tailored to individual fitness goals.
- Recognize the significance of warm-ups, cool-downs, and recovery in a training regimen.
