Course Learning Outcomes: Upon completion of the course, students will be able to

Demonstrate confidence on their instrument
Demonstrate the basics of proper technique and musical interpretation
Exhibit how to read a basic musical score
Understand and synthesize information regarding the basic function of a jazz ensemble and become familiar with jazz literature
Demonstrate knowledge of jazz ensemble concepts through performances
Be able to create and perform improvised solos, jazz progressions, and other applicable exercises
Explain knowledge of jazz form and technique
