CHMY 041 - Co-requisite Support for CHMY 141 College Chemistry I Credit(s): 1
Prerequisite(s): Appropriate placement test score, a grade of “A-” or better in CHMY 105 , or “C-” to “C+” in CHMY 121 . Corequisite(s): CHMY 141 . This course provides support in achieving the CHMY 141 learning outcomes. This support will be provided through extra instruction of basic chemistry concepts at the beginning of the semester as well as a more detailed and in depth look at CHMY 141 topics throughout the semester. (Fall Semester)
Course Learning Outcomes: Upon completion of the course, students will be able to
- Derive equations appropriate to the topics.
- Construct graphical representations of data.
- Follow logical arguments to solve applied chemical problems using dimensional analysis, linear regression, exponential and logarithmic functions, linear equations, and rearrangement of algebraic equations.
- Demonstrate comprehension and expression of chemical principles conceptually and mathematically.
