HEO 100 - Commercial Truck Driver Credit(s): 4
Prerequisite(s): Students must be at least 18 years of age and possess a valid Montana Driver’s License. This course will assist students in gaining a working knowledge of information needed to obtain a Class A CDL learner’s permit through classroom instruction. This class also includes simulator and backing practice, and the driving experience necessary to pass the pre-trip, skills, and driving exam for the Montana Class A CDL. The lab exercises are designed to provide students with the driving skills in a working environment. (All Semesters)
Course Learning Outcomes: Upon completion of the course, students will be able to - Conduct a pre-trip vehicle and safety inspection.
- Demonstrate an understanding of truck driving skills.
- Operate a commercial tractor-trailer combination vehicle weighing 26,000 GVW or more in normal highway conditions.
- Pass the Montana Class A CDL exam.
