Prerequisite(s): PSYX 100 . The study of human behaviors as social beings, and how social situations affect individual behavior is the basis of this course. Topics include aggression, prejudice, conformity, communications, and a variety of social experiences. (Fall and Spring Semesters)
Course Learning Outcomes: Upon completion of the course, students will be able to - Define social psychology, its historical context, and what social psychologists do.
- Describe and explain the major research methods and measures used in social psychology.
- Explain the major theoretical perspectives, concepts, and phenomena in social psychology, applying these to practical problems.
- Critically evaluate published research in social psychology, generating hypotheses through theory and research findings.
