ELCT 204 - Electrical Planning and Estimating Credit(s): 3
Corequisite(s): Instructor’s consent. This course is an applied course in the planning and cost estimation of electrical installations and rehabs for both commercial and residential applications. The course will use current catalog and electrical supply information to determine rough cost estimates based on blueprint or electrical drawings, as well as using customer requirements to determine the plan and cost estimates for new and old work. (Fall Semester)
Course Learning Outcomes: Upon completion of the course, students will be able to
- Employ the procedures to accurately plan for and estimate the cost of electrical installations and rehabs for both commercial and residential projects.
- Prepare a cost estimate for a residential and a commercial electrical installation.
- Identify local suppliers and catalog distribution centers that support residential and commercial electrical fixtures.
- Determine the most cost effective means of accomplishing an electrical installation.
