ARTZ 130 - Introduction to Ceramics

This introductory short course is designed for students interested in learning the fundamentals of wheel throwing and trimming clay, as well as glazing pottery. This course may be repeated for a total of two credits. Students receiving financial aid or veteran’s benefits should check with the Financial Aid Office before repeating this course. (Fall and Spring Semesters)

Course Learning Outcomes: Upon completion of the course, students will be able to

Make objects out of ceramics and finish works for presentation and for critique.
Assess the quality and effect of final products.
Discuss historical and contemporary artists illustrating ideas and concepts.
