AHMA 298 - Medical Assisting Externship

Prerequisite(s): a grade of “C” (74%) in all AHMA and AHMS courses.
This course provides students with hands on experience in a ambulatory care setting. Students are required to have 180 documented clinical hours at assigned clinics in addition to other coursework. (All Semesters)

Course Learning Outcomes: Upon completion of the course, students will be able to

Demonstrate administrative and clinical skills required of an entry-level medical assistant in a clinical setting.
Demonstrate professional behavior as required for an entry-level medical assistant.
Maintain appropriate confidentiality at all times in the clinical setting.
