MUSI 206 - Music Theory IV Credit(s): 3
Prerequisite(s): MUSI 205 . Corequisite(s): MUSI 241 . This course is a continuation of MUSI 205 , which teaches the fundamentals of music theory (meter, note values, rests, intervals, major scales, circle of fifths, chord construction, minor scales, basic harmonic progression, whole-tone scales and modes). This course focuses on the harmonic language of the Romantic era, including jazz and 18th century counterpoint. An introduction to music notation for computer is included. (Spring Semester)
