This course involves the study of cell organization; carbohydrate and lipid structure and function; protein and nucleic acid structure and function; mechanisms of enzyme function and inhibition; enzyme kinetics; energy and its relationship to biochemical processes; major metabolic pathways for carbohydrates, lipids, and amino acids; DNA replication, transcription, and translation; and regulation of gene function.
