ARTZ 108F - Visual Language-3-D Foundations

This course is a continuation of ARTZ 106 , a foundational course designed to present basic concepts, studying organization, structure and composition of forms through the use of basic design elements. Emphasis is on three-dimensionality. (Spring Semester)

Course Learning Outcomes: Upon completion of the course, students will be able to
  • Define and apply the core elements and principles of 3D design.
  • Demonstrate a variety of art construction techniques and utilize diverse artistic media to create original 3D works.
  • Select appropriate construction materials and demonstrate the safe and proper operation of tools used in creating 3D artwork.
  • Develop and solve visual problems by conceptualizing ideas and producing work through established processes and idea-generation strategies.
  • Critique the artwork of self and peers through oral and written analysis, proposing thoughtful alternatives to original solutions.
  • Examine the role of the Arts as a reflection of personal or cultural themes.
