EDU 291q - Eagle Online 02: Teaching an Online Course Credit(s): 1
Prerequisite(s): EDU 291p . This course prepares faculty to facilitate engaging, transparent, and student-centered learning experiences in online or blended environments. Participants examine approaches for building meaningful instructor-student interaction, designing engaging activities, and establishing clear expectations through transparent assignment design. Participants will apply these strategies within their own courses as they develop assignments, activities, and feedback methods suitable for online teaching. (All Semesters)
Course Learning Outcomes: Upon completion of the course, students will be able to
- Implement communication and presence strategies that foster student belonging and strengthen online learning communities.
- Design engaging learning activities that foster critical thinking, communication, collaboration, and creativity.
- Apply accessibility and Universal Design for Learning (UDL) principles to multimedia and interactive course materials.
- Apply transparency-based assignment design to clarify expectations and improve student understanding.
- Develop assessment and feedback approaches that support equitable and effective evaluation of student work.
