Prerequisite(s): DDSN 135 . This course presents the advanced use of new designing techniques and capabilities of solid modeling using the SolidWorks software, including the integration of the advanced parametric modeling and drawing tools for SolidWorks. (Spring Semester)
Course Learning Outcomes: Upon completion of the course, students will be able to - Create advanced assemblies using SolidWorks.
- Use advanced, mechanical, SmartMates, and Mate referenced features.
- Use top-down assembly modeling, configurations within assemblies, and layout-based assembly design.
- Apply advanced techniques for parts modeling including: Multi-body solids, Sketching with splines, Sweeping options, Boundary features & lofting, and Sheet metal and weldments.
