Corequisite(s): BIOM 260 . This course is an introduction to fundamental techniques for isolation, manipulation, and identification of microorganisms. Laboratory activities will relate to topics covered in BIOM 260 . (Intermittently)
Course Learning Outcomes: Upon completion of the course, students will be able to - Perform microbial culture methods using aseptic technique and standard microbiological media.
- Perform appropriate staining and microscopic methods used in the microbiology laboratory.
- Follow laboratory safety guidelines for the microbiology laboratory.
- Demonstrate the ability to apply scientific concepts and methods of inquiry.
